FAQ
What Is YTVT?
YTVT (Your Voice Translated) is a real-time voice translation and subtitle tool for personal users. The browser extension captures audio from supported browser tabs, sends it to cloud models for real-time translation, and plays translated speech or displays subtitles in the browser. Key facts are on the About YTVT page.
Do I Need An Account?
Yes. You must sign in and verify your email before starting translation. After email verification, Free users receive 15 lifetime minutes.
Which Browsers Are Supported?
The YTVT website and Chrome and Edge desktop extensions are the primary supported experiences. The Android app is in development and is not available yet. iPhone, iPad, Windows, and macOS clients are not currently offered as public downloads unless an official YTVT page says otherwise. Requirements and current status are on the Download page.
How Do I Install The Extension?
The YTVT extension is available for Chrome and Edge: install it from the Chrome Web Store or Microsoft Edge Add-ons. After installation, pin the YTVT icon in your browser toolbar, open a page that plays video or audio, and click the extension to sign in. A step-by-step guide with screenshots is at How to translate a video's audio.
How Are Plans Different?
Free includes Qwen. Lite includes Qwen and Soniox; Plus includes Qwen, Gemini, and Soniox; Pro includes all eligible providers, Pro-only OpenAI, and Pro subtitle PDF. Soniox uses automatic voice matching without delaying first dubbed audio. Prices, minutes and device limits for each plan are on the Pricing page.
What Is The Difference Between The Two Purchase Options?
The standard option is a one-time single-month purchase. It provides 30 days of access and does not renew automatically. The discounted option is a recurring monthly subscription that saves 10% and renews each month until auto-renewal is turned off. Both prices for every plan are on the Pricing page.
What Are Add-On Minutes?
Add-on minutes are extra minutes for when you need more capacity. You can buy a pack at the North America anchor price of $7.99 / +120 minutes, and YTVT may also grant a pack, for example during a promotion. A pack sits unused until you activate it; activating it adds the minutes to the paid access cycle you are in, and they expire at the end of that cycle without extending plan access. Some packs carry an activation deadline, and a pack not activated by that date is forfeited; a pack issued without a deadline stays available until you use it. A Free account may hold a granted pack but needs Lite, Plus, or Pro to activate it.
Does YTVT Store My Audio?
By default, YTVT does not write audio, translated audio, transcript text, or subtitle text to databases, files, or logs. Audio is sent only to the model or speech provider selected or actually used for the real-time session.
What Does Pro Subtitle PDF Store?
Only Pro users who separately opt in can save final subtitle records for later PDF generation and email delivery. Purchasing or upgrading to Pro does not automatically enable this feature. Records are retained for a limited period and can be disabled or deleted.
Does YTVT Train Models On My Content?
No. YTVT does not use your audio, transcripts, subtitle text, or PDF content to train models, and does not use them to build advertising profiles. Real-time content is sent only to the translation or speech provider selected or actually invoked for that session. How each provider handles that content is governed by its own terms, its data processing terms, and YTVT's provider configuration.
Can I Use Translation Results For Professional Decisions?
You should not rely on AI translation as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial, safety, or other high-risk professional decisions. AI translation may be wrong, incomplete, delayed, or contextually inaccurate.
How Do I Cancel?
A single-month purchase does not renew and does not need to be canceled. For a recurring monthly subscription, you can turn off auto-renewal through YTVT account controls or the customer portal linked in your receipt. The current paid period remains active until it ends.
Can I Get A Refund?
Refund eligibility is decided under the Refund Policy and the consumer law that applies where you live. YTVT does not offer a separate refund guarantee of its own. Contact YTVT Support or start a request from the billing page of your YTVT account; approved refunds are issued by our authorized reseller and merchant of record, which is named on your receipt (currently Creem). Submitting a request does not guarantee approval; mandatory consumer rights and product-defect rights are not reduced.
Why Can Translation Fail To Start?
Common reasons include not being signed in, unverified email, insufficient minutes, concurrency limits, unsupported browser, model provider issues, network errors, or the extension not having the temporary browser permission it needs.
How Do I Contact Support?
Use the support channel listed on the official website. Include your account email, browser version, extension version, plan, the order number on your receipt, and approximate time of the issue. Do not send audio, full transcript text, or sensitive personal information unless support specifically requests it through an approved channel.
